Good Irish Red Ale! Poured from a 12 oz. can into a pint glass, this beer features a beautiful clear dark amber color and a medium sized foamy white head with good lacing and better than average retention. Nice crisp taste of slightly sweet malt, some toffee and a touch of caramel. A very mild bittiness was noticed too. mouthfeel was crisp and light. I had it with a corned beef dinner and it went down easy!!!!

Appearance: On draft at the brewery in Scott's Addition. Clear, dark reddish brown color that looks like iced tea. One finger of head that was reduced to a thin topcoat in about a minute. Hardly any lacing.
Aroma: Muted. And remained that way even after it warmed up.
Taste: Black tea. Caramel and toffee. Malt.
Feel: Medium-light. Dry. Good carbonation.
Overall: The beer isn't bad, but it's not anything to write home about either. It's the kind of beer you'll drink once and be somewhat content with, but will look for something else on the tap list for your next pour. Then you'll forget about it as soon as you leave. Try it in a flight if you get the chance, rather than committing to a whole pint.

Smell of hops caramel and citrus. Upfront taste of malt and caramel. Slight citrus and hop finish. Pretty well balanced. I could crush quite a few of these.

From the can, it pours a reddish color with a modest off-white head that soon diminishes to a ring. The nose gets some light malty hints and maybe touch of hops. The mouth gets some bitterness to go with the malts, which has a hint of caramel to me.
2025 update: Yum!

10 oz pour at the Charlottesville brewery location. Pours amber/red with a moderate off-white head. Aroma and flavor feature caramel and biscuit malt, some floral/citrus hops, and a hint of oxidation. Mouthfeel is moderately carbonated and medium-bodied. Overall a solid Irish red ale.

I tried this at the Roanoke, VA location. It poured a clear amber with thin white head that did not leave much lace. The scent had hints of malt. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with malt base and subtle bitter hop finish. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it was a good beer.

From the label: "BOTTLED ON. 01/10/19"
Appearance: The color of the beer is a dark brown with an auburn tone that shows through with light. The head is thick and frothy with off-white webs. Good clarity.
Aroma: It has a nice burnt caramel and toffee aroma with hints of coffee. There is a touch of what smells like sweet cream. There is a black tea aroma to the beer.
Taste: The beer has a nice toffee flavor that is both sweet and bitter. It has a nice toasty flavor. After about 2/3 of the bottle the beer really starts to amplify this herbal character that underpins both the sweetness and bitterness with an earthy flavor.
Mouthfeel: It's a nice clean beer. It has a solid medium body that supports ideal carbonation levels and delivers the beer expertly to the palate.
Overall: It's a great beer and it's worth grabbing a sixer of. It hits the nail on the head in terms of appearance, aroma, flavor, and mouthfeel. It's just a highly enjoyable beer to drink. I was really impressed by the beer and I would highly recommend it. Probably my most favorite part of this beer is that the aroma was so enjoyable and that it set the stage for the flavor. By smelling this beer you really know what it will taste like.

Pours a clear, reddish-brown color with a thin, white, head. Smell is malty, mild, sweet. Taste is sweet, hint of honey, malty, with a touch of hop bitterness. Medium body and carbonation. Overall, easy drinking beer. Tasty and would pair well with a number of meals.
