Pours a clear, golden, color with about a finger of white, fluffy head. Smell is citrus, rye, malt, and a little earth. Taste is citrus, lemon, rye, lemongrass. Moderate bitterness. Medium body and carbonation. It's nice, the rye is different and mixes well with the citrus flavors.

Azacca Hop - 6.5% ABV version
Cooper brew, clean with modest head and choppy lacing
Little in the smell. Some earthiness. Malt upfront, butterscotch sweetness, breadiness and dry but rye is in the background. Crisp pleasant slightly peppery dry finish.
Little disappointing, unbalanced hopiness and layers that hide rather than enhance the ryeness.

Sorachi Ace version dated 8/12/17.
Pours a beautiful, deep, clear amber with a small head and minimal lacing.
The smell is lemon with a nice rye spice that borders on chemical for some reason.
The taste is a nice combination of lemon and rye, although the rye is stronger.
The mouthfeel is medium body and carbonation
Overall a nice beer with a strong rye note that does not overpower the sorachi Ace.

Can dated 8/11:
Pours anice Amber, slight haze and a thin white cap. Cap stays and there's a little bit of lacing.
Nose is more lemony on this glass than I remember from previous cans, where I more of the distinctive Sorachi hop note. The Sorachi reed grass comes out but not as much coconut that I get with this hop. A little rye bread action is here, though not as much spice as I originally got.
Rye comes in the taste and just as the spice seems to be gaining, the lemon and lemongrass start to take hold. Grass wins out over lemon tea notes, but the ending brings back a little rye toast with a lingering lemon marmalade.
Slightly dry, with a little drawing bitterness. Medium body, with a tingle of carbonation.
I like Sorachi and usually enjoy a rye beer. They make slightly strange bedfellows in this one, but in a way enjoyable to me.

It's faintly cloudy, an orangey gold with about a finger of thick foamy white head. The head has great retention and leaves good spots of tight sticky lacing. The aroma is mild but has some nice juicy tropical fruits and a little malty sweetness. The taste is much the same but packs a little more punch by way of flavor, with just a touch of spicy grain from the rye. The body is lighter with a light but persistent carbonation.
