Served on-tap in a Shaker pint at Mellow Mushroom (Charlottesville, VA).
A: Honey-gold with 1/2 finger of off-white head which gives way with average retention and a few lace figures around the top of the glass.
S: Very IPA-like strong hoppy aroma with equal mix of citrus, pine, and herbal hops qualities. Lemon, grapefruit and resin are heaviest. Light-medium caramel malts provide some malty notes. No yeast or alcohol character.
T: Good hoppy flavor, also pushing the upper limit of the APA style. There are some light caramel notes poking through, but lemon, grapefruit, orange, and pine resin come through with some floral features too. Clean ale flavor with no yeast or alcohol character. At least moderately bitter -- and hoppy!
M: Medium body with medium carbonation and nice dry finish.
O: Another nice hop-forward ale from THree Notch'd -- this fits as an extra pale ale as caramel character is low while hop aroma and flavor are high.
