"I created this beer as a reflection of the summers of my childhood growing up on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Two of my favorite things to do was chasing fireflies with a mason jar and indulging in the sweet nectar of the honeysuckle flower, which grew wild throughout my neighborhood. My favorite time of the year is when I see fireflies for the first time and it takes me back to that period in my life. This light, crisp, refreshing summer ale with the sweet, fruity, floral flavors of delicious honeysuckle pays homage to those warm summer evenings when life was so simple. And of course, it must be served in a mason jar! Enjoy!

From the can, it pours a clear yellow color with a nice white head that slowly reduces and leaves some lacing. The nose gets a pleasant citrus scent. The mouth gets a slightly bitterness forward lightly malty brew that has a minor light aftertaste.

I thought this one was pretty good!! Had a pint at A. J.Gator's in Virginia Beach along with a burger and fries. It came in the dreaded frosted pint glass so any observation about the head/retention/lacing would be unfair other than to say the head was white. Nice clear rich gold color. Initial aroma was sweet and floral (probably the honeysuckle). Pleasant enough, but I'm glad it faded while I drank the beer!! Taste was pretty good. Still a floral character throughout but less so. Nice level of hops bitterness. Mouthfeel was crisp, nicely bitter for a Pale Ale and light (but not watery). A great choice for a summer refreshment and at the outer edge of being a session beer.

Saw this was a pale ale after I purchased it. Would not have had I known that. Thankfully, I didn't look it up on beer advocate. I doesn't taste like a pale ale to me.
This beer is as advertised; taste is full of honeysuckle flavor with a barely discernable and complimentary hop kick. Has some malt backbone. Great Summer crusher! And it's unique, so that's a bonus. I know it has hops, but it kinda reminds me of a very smooth gruit. Will buy again for sure.

Can dated 05/04/20. Obviously the brewmaster was to young to drink beer in those warm summer nights long ago. A nice looking beer but with a very odd and unappealing aroma and taste. Not a drain pour but close to it. The aroma is cloyingly sweet if not just unnatural and fake. The taste does not entirely reflect the nose. It is not sweet but rather a poorly crafted off tasting Pilsner with sweet undertones.

Pours golden and clear. Some citrus aroma. This tastes artificial in the same way as Tropic Cannon. That’s not a good thing. In fact, it’s a very bad thing. I don’t know if this is what honeysuckle tastes like but if it is, why would anyone want to drink it. The beer is just horrifically flavored, but otherwise not flawed.

Can dated 5/22:
Pours a deep amber with a dull orange lean. Initial head isn't too bad, but it ends in a medium to thin collar with no lacing.
Nose is slightly sweet nectar with a fresh green flower note on a still beer. Honeysuckle is hinted at before a swirl. After a swirl, there's a bouquet of scents that come out - honey, honeysuckle, candied orange peel, and a little flavored bubblegum that generate a near Maraschino cherry note. There's a slight overripe aspect to this, and it's also missing any hint of bitter balance.
The beer doesn't come across as sweet as the nose, thankfully, but it is pretty sweet in a fruity bubblegum sort of way. This does smack you lightly but the pain fades with a tickling carbonation and a grainy/grassy balanced APA note can be noted. The opening notes carry through in a diminished capacity, however. A sweet clementine or candied orange note sort of hold the end note. There's a surprising though very light peppery to minty herb counter to the sweetness in the very end and while it creeps forward a little with warmth, it doesn't stand very tall against the sweeter notes.
This beer is actually fairly well structured - the notes are clear, the beer is medium light and fairly crisp in feel for the nearing syrupy flavors. The sweetness is just a little too strong, so I can't see this as a refreshing session beer, but I also am not looking for a place to dump it.

The flavor is good, however this beer competes for easily one if the most blatant uses of extract I have ever tried. Good for about an ounce or two and then I'm done
