Can:
A quite good looking beer, it's on the darker side of brown. There is a luscious tan head on this pour - looking from the top, it almost reminded of a nitro pour. Head is long lasting and provides large splotches for lacing.
Nose has what I expect from a nut brown ale, though there's a bit more dark bread (not quite pumpernickel but close) and toast than nuttiness initially. The hazelnut that comes reminds me a little of the light hazelnut coffee my mom serves. Like the flavors, the nose seems to open up with warmth while also adding a rich honey aspect - almost like a honey bread.
Taste is a little more bitter than expected - a mix of light roast, earth and something like evergreen wood. The high level of prickly carbonation don't help much here. There's a little bit of hazelnut initially. Warmth helps both the malt and hazelnut to come forward, thankfully. A little nuttiness joins a bit of a burnt toast bitterness in the end.
Seems a little bit of a cross between a brown ale and a light porter, which I guess isn't too uncommon for an American Brown. I like this brewery's take on an English Brown (No Veto) better, though.

From the bottom of the can: "CANNED 10/16/19 ENJOY 01/14/20"
Appearance: The body is a dark brown that borders on black with a deep reddish-brown mahogany hue. It has a large fluffy head that is light khaki in color. Good retention and lacing.
Aroma: There is a light nutty aroma to the beer with a strong malt background. It has a bit of toasted caramel notes.
Taste; It has a pleasantly sweet brown sugar flavor and a light nutty finish.
Mouthfeel: It is very smooth and easy to drink with a light touch of malt bitterness that cuts at the sweetness.
Overall: It is a very easy drinking beer with a nice flavor and aroma. It looks fantastic in the glass. The can states that this is a "HAZELNUT BROWN ALE" and it does have a nice, light, nutty aroma and flavor. It's a pleasant beer to drink and I could see myself drinking it regularly when I feel like a good solid Brown Ale. I would recommend picking it up if it's available. It would go well with fried potatoes and peppers or something a bit earthy and spicy to play off the sweetness of the beer.
