16oz can, tulip, canned 11/19/20.
This beer’s countenance is quite stunning, showing a lightly hazy straw yellow body with layers of off-white froth stacked atop for some time. The glass is well laced.
Orange marmalade, clover, and pleasant, light aromas of spices. Definitely nutmeg, but it’s quite light touch and nice.
And like many holiday spices beers, things just get out of control. The spices dominate the flavor with an overage of nutmeg, a slap of allspice, and more than a pinch of clove. All else takes a backseat, which is a shame. There’s some of the orange with some clover honey and hints of dark berry and maybe some non-spice related herbal flavors, but that’s all just a wispy, effervescent tease compared to the burly allspice.
The feel is light with moderate carbonation. There’s a bit of a coating sensation that I also attribute to the spices.
I love the idea of an English hazy IPA, but the spices punt the whole thing.
