L: Pours a pitch-black, oily brew that forms a nice espresso head which fades slowly, leaving behind a cloud of tan retention and a thin ring of lacing on the edge of the brew. When held to the light, this beer has an opaque black hue.
S: Chocolate, marshmallows, roasted malts dominate the aromas. Vanilla and molasses as well. Strong hints of graham crackers. Very similar to the Smores series, as alluded to by the name.
T: Sweetness on the front-end. Lots of chocolate, graham cracker, and marshmallow. Hints of roasted malts, char, and burnt sugar. Some hops that lends to the 40 IBUs. Overall, a nice stout that tastes a little watery given the strong ABV.
F: Medium-bodied. Moderate carbonation, with a slick and oily feel. The taste does linger, but it lacks the creaminess or syrup texture of many of its sweeter cousins. If I had to guess, this is a milk stout so it's not quite as rich as an AIS. Mouthfeel is probably the weakest link on this beer.
O: Stouts are really not the strong suit of Three Notch'd. Their original Biggie Smores and later adjuncts are fine but unspectacular. Chalk this beer up in that same category. Try it once, then move on to better options.
