12 ounce can, canned on 12/16/19, another brew from Brutaltruth, thanks! Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch tan head that stuck around a while. There's also a good amount of lacing. I like the aroma, the brew smells like dark fruit (plum, raisin), roasted malt, coffee and bittersweet chocolate. For the most part I think the taste is just like the aroma, but there's also some burnt/charred and anise flavors noticeable too. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's a bit creamy and slick with a good amount of carbonation. I liked this RIS, I've enjoyed the Grainworks brews I've had so far. Certainly worth picking up if you've never had it before. Hope to make it to their taproom the next time I'm in the Cincy area!

From the 12 oz can in a snifter. This solid RIS/American stout
pours a dark blackish brown with a nice head of dark tan foam
that settles to a thick ring, thin light pooling layer, and shows
very nice lacing. Nose of coffee, dark cocoa, char, and herbal hops.
Flavors follow the nose with herbal hops giving balance to
dark cocoa, dark coffee, char, and subtle anise with deep roast.
Nice mouth feel; medium full body verging on full, medium light
carbonation, moderately coating, rich, and finishing with a
nice bitter malt note.
Overall, a SOLID brew and one of the best from this brewery
I have had.
A no frills RIS that pleases.
Cheers
