This is an Oatmeal Coffee stout, with coffee from House of Coffee Beans just down the road.
A: Pours pretty much opaque/pitch black in color. A two finger tan head forms with good retention and recedes after a minute. Lots of lace is left behind.
S: At first I get a bit of green pepper coffee aroma. That fades once this warms to a more espresso like coffee aroma. Big roast, and lots of malty aromas going on. Very nice.
T: Like the nose, green pepper up front but again becomes more nuanced as this warms. Big espresso, roast, and chocolate malts are the entire show. Almost like bakers chocolate, and finishes on the bitter roast side. You really need to let this warm to room temp to fully appreciate it though.
M/O: A big full body. Good carbonation that is ultra smooth at the same time. Not an Imperial Stout, but it is on the boarder. That being said, easy and enjoyable to drink.
A really good stout with a lot of character. Another good option right from the start from this brewery. I will be getting more when I stop by.
