On tap at Baileson, a great old gas station turned brewery. Pours a really pretty honey brown. On the sweet malty side, just like I was hoping. Bready. With just enough hops to give it a small bite at the end.

The pint had a deep amber color with a small head. The smell was sweet, almost decadent. I enjoy my festbiers to be on the sweeter side. With the first sip there was an onslaught of maltiness and bready flavors. Easy on the palate. I rate this beer high due to it's malty biscuit character and amazing color.

A: Pours a clear orange/reddish color. A one finger white head forms that recedes in a minute. Light lace is left behind.
S: It is subtle, but toasted, bready, malty up font. Some spicy/earthy hops in the background. While I always enjoy subtlety, this seems a little to muted. Still nothing wrong here, just seems a bit muted.
T: Toasted and bread like malts. Certainly sweet caramel malts. A bit of earthy spicy hops. Though sweetness kind of takes over.
M/O: A light to medium body. Well carbonated, though a bit rough and could be a bit cleaner. Not hard to drink. I can come back to this at the brewery with no problem. Though not one of the better examples of the style IMO.
This is kind of in that typical overly sweet Americanized Oktoberfests vain. They even use an Ale yeast, so take that for what it is worth. Maybe a more traditional approach would clean this up a bit. As is similar to Left Hand or Saint Arnold Oktoberfest. Which is that classic American interpretation of the style. Enjoyable for what it is, but not particularly a traditional German style.
