16 ounce crowler into tulip glass, filled on 2/24/2019. Pours very hazy/cloudy deep golden/orange/amber color with a 1 finger dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big juicy/lightly tart/tangy strawberries, apricots, mandarin orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, gooseberry, citrus peel/zest, light pepper/pine, vanilla, cream, wheat, biscuit dough, light honey, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical hops, strawberries, apricots, lactose, and bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of huge juicy/lightly tart/tangy strawberries, apricots, mandarin orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, gooseberry, citrus peel/zest, light pepper/pine, vanilla, cream, wheat, biscuit dough, light honey, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Mild pine, zesty, herbal, floral, grassy bitterness; and slight fruit tang/tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of strawberries, apricots, mandarin orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, gooseberry, citrus peel/zest, light pepper/pine, vanilla, cream, wheat, biscuit dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops, strawberries, apricots, lactose, and bready malt flavors; with a solid malt/bitterness and fruit tang/tartness balance; with no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Slightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness and fruit tang/tartness. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/bready, lightly sticky, and slightly tangy mouthfeel that is fantastic. Mild increasing warmth of 7.4%. Overall this is a fantastic fruited milkshake IPA! All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops, strawberries, apricots, lactose, and bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the minimally bitter/tart/drying finish; fantastic soft feel. Feels like mostly Citra. Extremely juicy hops/fruit with slight dankness; with a perfectly balanced lactose and wheat/oat/malt backbone. Light residual sweetness with lingering bitter dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and amazing style example.
