Near, far, wherever you are, my tart will go on! We aged this sour on 100 pounds of blackberries, which provide the perfect amount of tart and spice to our base Berliner Weisse.

16 ounce crowler into tulip glass, filled on 6/19/2020. Pours very hazy deep ruby red/orange/amber color with a 1 finger dense and rocky light pink head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Thick soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big juicy/tart/tangy blackberries, fruit skin/seed, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, melon, red/green apple, white grape/wine, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, light pepper/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of blackberries, fruity/acidic yeast, and pale/wheat malt notes; with big strength. Taste of big juicy/tart/tangy blackberries, fruit skin/seed, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, melon, red/green apple, white grape/wine, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, light pepper/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tart/sourness, and fruit tang on the finish. Lingering notes of tart/sour blackberries, fruit skin/seed, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, melon, red/green apple, white grape/wine, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, light pepper/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of blackberries, fruity/acidic yeast, and pale/wheat malt flavors; with an awesome malt/tart/sourness balance, and no puckering/astringent flavors after the finish. Fairly crisp/clean finishing. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering tart/sourness, fruit tang, and carbonation. Medium-plus carbonation and medium body;l with a very smooth, moderately creamy/grainy, and acidic/tangy/tannic balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 3.8%. Overall this is an awesome fruited Berliner weisse. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of blackberries, fruity/acidic yeast, and pale/wheat malt flavors; very smooth and fairly crisp/clean/refreshing to drink, with the modestly acidic/tangy/drying finish; nicely soft and not overly lactic. Awesome balance of juicy/jammy fruit and lacto complexity; with a great clean wheat/malt backbone against acidity. Minimal residual sweetness with crisp dryness. A really enjoyable offering, and impressive spot on style example as expected of the brewery.
