We have ventured into the big strong stout category! The thick mouthfeel moves into a sticky sweet chocolate profile, that finishes with a faint alcohol burn. Dangerously smooth and delicious! Aged in Bourbon Barrels.

8 ounce can into BA rastal tumbler, 2019 vintage purchased at the brewery. Pours dense pitch black color with a thin foamy tan head with poor retention, that reduces to nothing pretty quickly. Bit of alcohol legs on the glass. Aromas of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, molasses, bourbon, oak, raisin, prune, fig, date, some booze/yeast earth. Pretty phenolic aromas on top of big malts. Taste follows with huge dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, molasses, toffee, raisin, prune, fig, date, licorice, tobacco, bourbon, toasted oak, leather, herbal, grass; light soy sauce, smoke, char, booze, and yeast earthiness. Light hop/char bitterness and oak spiciness on the finish. Light carbonation and very full body. Very creamy/silky/velvety and fairly slick malt mouthfeel. Lingering oak tannin and chalky roast dryness, with no acrid/astringency. Mild lingering warmth and booze of 18% after the finish. Very smooth sipper for the ABV. Tons of rich malt and yeast/melanoidin complexities, with great barrel integration all around. My wife loved it, but a bit too alcoholic for her to down a full can. I still want to share some bruery stouts with her, so it'll be a weekend affair for sure. Glad I still have more. Wonderfully aging.
