I tried this beer at the brewery as part of a five sample fight whilst in Dayton for my Bestie's 50th Birthday celebration. It poured an opaque dark with tan head that did not leave much lace. The scent had sweet roast malt and chocolate notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with sweet malt, roast, and chocolate presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a good beer.

32 ounce crowler, filled on 3/6/21, purchased at the brewery. Had it there as part of a flight last weekend so figured I'd buy some to take home. Served in a nonic pint glass, the beer pours dark brown/black with about a half inch tan head that stayed around for a while. Good amount of lacing. The brew smells like burnt/charred malt, bittersweet chocolate, molasses and earthiness. Taste is similar to the aroma, but with the addition of some dark fruit. Think the burnt/ashy flavor stands out compared to the sweet ones, but doesn't overpower the beer either. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's a bit coating with a low/moderate amount of carbonation. Probably should have drank the crowler earlier in the week so that's on me. Overall I liked this one, if you like ashy tasting stouts then give this one a try, it's a nice change of pace from the sweeter tasting ones.

Delicious Stout. Decently bitter with nice roastiness and a hint of sweetness. Pours a deep black and smells of that same roastiness and sweetness. Will definitely have again
