Downton Lake Barleywine ; for our 2022 special strong beer release, we brewed a batch of Belgian Quad infused with First Peak coffee from our friends at Counterpart Coffee and a batch of English Barleywine infused with Tahitian vanilla and blended together. The result is a dark, complex Ale with dark fruit notes, malty richness and a mild yeast spiciness.
With a rich body, this ale will age well with port-like flavours developing over time.

A-Frame Brewing 'Downtown Lake' English Barleywine @ 9.5% , served from a burgundy waxed 650 ml bottle
A-pour is a cola brown from the waxed bottle to a dark amber in the glass with a small size tan head , dissipating into a minimal lace ring , last pour is a dirty amber
S-caramel & toffee , hints of dark fruits in the background
T-blend of 2022 English Barleywine & Belgian Quad , mostly dark fruits & toffee
MF-mild carbonation , big full body , warming
Ov-good beer , worthy of time in the cellar
