A fresh and hoppy IPA with notes of juicy tropical fruit and lime zest. Pairs well with big flavours, especially spicy and rich dishes.

Poured from a 500ml bottle .
Pours a clear , lightish golden straw , thin white head and visibly highly carbonated . Smells lightly fruity, citrus and honey . The taste is sweet , malt and hops with a little bitterness. Slight resin and alcohol.
The mouthfeel is thick and a little syrupy , tiny bubbles everywhere .
Overall, nothing great , very average whilst at the same time being a little sickly sweet. The sweetness mellows and bitterness builds as the beer warms which is a slight improvement but this feels like a beer that does not know what it wants to be and falls down badly . It's not a good IPA , it's not a good English pale ale and in aiming somewhere in the middle it misses everything.

500ml bottle.
L: Clear amber with two fingers of soapy foam. Looks good.
S: Caramel.
T: Mainly caramel and stewed tea. There are some citrusy new world hops present but they’re kept very much in the background.
F: Medium body, plenty of slick mouthfeel and a dry finish.
O: The label claims this is a west coast IPA. No it isn’t. This is an English pale ale with some new world hops thrown in (Citra? - the brewery website doesn’t list which hops are used). It’s what happens when an established, independent British brewery (Bath Ales has been brewing since 1995) decides it needs to brew “craft” while trying not to outrage its old-timey CAMRA customers. I like Bath Ales. They brew decent English pale ales. They just need to call it what it is. This is a perfectly good English pale ale but an absolutely rubbish West Coast pale ale.
NB I’ve graded it as an English pale ale.

White rabbit on the bottle...maybe it's a hare; ) I'm a big fan of West Coast IPA's so looking forward to this...made in Bath in England.
Barley, wheat, oats and rye..wow. I've never had this many grains in an IPA before...this is a very bold beer, as it says on the label.
Quite a fizzy texture in the glass...bubbly, less foamy head...beautiful colour.
Sweet, subtle tangerinney, peachy aroma.
The oats and rye give this an amazing complex punchy taste that balances and goes perfectly with the hops. Very sophisticated taste...I really like this.

Bottle. Golden marmalade colour. Frothy head.
Citrus hop, grain and light caramel smell.
Hops again in the flavour. The rye is noticeable. Harsh bitter finish.
Well carbonated and the oats provide a smooth feel.
West Coast IPA? I think not.
