An american classic, flavorful like an ale, crisp and refreshing like a lager.

Clear, golden color. Medium-sized, white head. Corn, malt, and a hint of fruits in the aroma. Malty but balanced taste with light hoppy bitterness.Drinkable.

16oz can into a pint. Canned 5/24/24, so 4 months old.

Bright golden yellow body, small white head quickly fades away, a few specks of lacing. Aroma is a littlec. on the musty side. On tasting, malty, slightly sweet, very clean, not particularly creamy. Finish is again clean, short lasting.

Overall, decent enough cream ale, nothing offensive about it except the slightly off aroma.

Poured into a wide mouth grip shaped goblet: color is straw, clear, head is brighter white with fine bubbles, head presents two fingers thick, dissipates to thin top with spotty lacing.

Smell is sweet malt, light biscuit, corn, notable grassy hops.

Taste is similar with sweet malt with notes of biscuit, corn, apple, grassed hops.

Mouthfeel is moderate carbonation, moderate sweetness, low bitterness; a little undercarbed for style.

Overall a well put together cream ale - a little sweet, fruity, want a bit more carbonation/bite.

Canned 12/21/23

2+ fingers o'head form over a body the same color as my dehydrated piss. Active, swirling carbonation. Sticky, spotty lacing. Smells of grain and corn with a slight floral hop accent. A lil bready. Pleasant. I get a little apple and pear on the tongue. Not apple in that grody acetal way, though. Corn stands out too. This is how I want my Mexican lagers to taste. Crisp and smooth. I could see this being very good with a squeeze of lime on a hot Summer day. Hell, if this is a year-round offering I will probably make that happen. Good, underrated (IMO) beer.

Extremely solid example of the style.

Rich mouthfeel...smooth and malt driven....slight hop presence...super drinkable....stands great alone or with food...

Good offering.

One more beer for the review desk, Paupack Cream Ale. I served it in a pint glass at around 42 degrees. The pour created a two-fingered, frothy, airy, white head with above-average retention. The slow dissipation left some lacing on the glass. The clarity is clear, and the color charts around SRM 4 pale straw. The overall appearance is about average.
Nosing the glass, I smell corn, light floral, crackers, and a delicate fruity aroma. The nose is clean and hard to perceive.
I taste corn sweetness, lightly floral, crackers, delicate fruity aroma, and grainy.
The mouthfeel is light and finishes crisp. The body is light and has medium carbonation.
Surprisingly, this tasty beer makes for a sipper on a relaxed Idaho night. Thank you!

Poured six hours later into a pint glass from a crowler purchased from the brewery, 11/6/2021.
This is a far better example of the style than the hefe I had while at the brewery (spoiler: the hefeweizen is also good). This has more hop presence than I anticipated, due to the style, also this bitterness is not necessarily a bad thing. For me, the finish was especially hoppy, which was unexpected, yet very enjoyable!
I love this style and this was a fantastic effort.

Thanks to Ozzylizard for this one, from his hits during NBS BIF #14. 16oz can (dated 8/18/21) poured into 14oz teku. Poured a bright, clean, clear medium-dark gold color with 1-1/2 inches of white head that had good retention and lacing.

The aroma started out with some earthy grains, followed by some malt sweetness. Very light floral hop scents as well.

Similar on the tongue, with the sweetness being a bit more notable.

The body was nice, smooth and even, with a lightly sweet finish.

Drinkability was very good, I could see these being a fridge staple for me, if they were local.

Overall, a really solid and enjoyable brew. Certainly worth grabbing if you see it.
