Poured into a wide mouth grip shaped goblet: color is gold, clear, head is 1+ fingers thick, head presents as off white with frothy presentation, head remains and spotty lacing on the glass.
Smell is light toasted malt and piney/earthy hops.
Taste is toasted malt, light caramel, hint of honey, then pine, earth, and citric hops.
Mouthfeel is low/moderate carbonation, moderate sweetness, low/moderate bitterness.
Overall a nearly great AIPA - light aroma, good base flavor, light bitterness.

Look...conventional looking IPA of the west coast variety. Amber brown with a light tan head
Smell...Insignificant almost not present. citrus bitter and grass.
Taste....Old school bitter start to a malty middle and drying finish. A slick not sticky overtone and never creamy
Feel...A a medium to small amount of lacing with a medium carbonation. This is what is nice quality
Overall...A good and solid beer that was no drain pour but for me I think it is nice as a gift and it was. When I was a the brewery they had a couple of cool options and liked many and was lazy and didn't bring any other beers home with me. Last day of vacation and made a poor decision haha Well made just not my fave

Canned 8/24/22
Not a ton of hop character, but I like the bitter citrus rind/aspirin at the finish. Not much else, just a little short cake or sugar cookie for a bit of balance. Not bad.

Hawley’s Comet IPA from Wallenpaupack Brewing. 16 oz can purchased from Wallenpaupack Brewing, Hawley, PA (10/20/2021). $ 7.42 (including tax)/can ($0.464/oz). Stored at reefer in store and at 40 degrees after purchase. Reviewed 23/04/22. Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Stamped on bottom of can “CANNED 09/22/21”. Served at 44.7 degrees in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. Final temperature 52.5 degrees.
Appearance – 4
First pour – Pale Amber (SRM 9), slight haze.
Body – Medium Amber (SRM 12), hazy. When rear-lite, looks like a young cider that’s just begun fermentation.
Head – Average (Maximum 3.5 cm, aggressive center pour), antique white, high density, and average retention, diminishing to an undulating 0.5 to 0.9 cm crown fed by moderate carbonation and a thin, rocky cap, leaving an excellent band of lacing on the inside of the glass as the head retracts
Lacing – Good. Wide band of tiny bubbles with a few windows – the whole thing promises to end up as torn curtains.
Aroma – 3 – Weak. Grassy hops and malt are balanced, no yeast.
Flavor – 3 – Lightly bitter. The hops have weakened and slid into the background, contributing a hint of bitterness while supporting the malt-forward flavor, no yeast. No ethanol (6.5 % ABV as marked on label) taste or aroma. No gastric warming occurs. No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl.
Palate – 3.5 – Medium, thin and watery, soft but lively carbonation.
Final impression and summation: 3.25 Good looking beer that has lost any grapefruit and resiny characteristics, only a mild bitterness remains to balance the malty sweetness. Still, a very drinkable brew – just lacks any outstanding flavors.

Thanks to Ozzyliazrd for this one, from NBS BIF #14. 16oz can (dated 9/22/21) poured into 14oz teku. Poured a cloudy, dark orange color with over an inch of off-white head that had good retention and lacing.
The scent and flavor were very close, some semi-sweet malt and brighter hops. t reminded more of an East Coast IPA from the 80's-90's/early 00's than the WCIPA the claims. The hops had some more personality and life on the tongue that in the nose.
The body was medium, smooth, and had a mildly semi-sweet finish. Drinkability was good, I could knock back a few more of these. Overall, perhaps not what it was described as, but still a nicely enjoyable brew. worth a shot if you see it.

Not a ton on the nose (slight citrus) but I’ve had a few. A bit mild and a decent mix of slight citrus hops and a lingering slight bite on this one. Medium in feel and a decent amount of carbonation. This is ok
