16oz can courtesy of JayO'Rear. Shit, this comes with instructions! All I wanted was a beer, now I gotta study!
After pouring per the instructions (gently invert three times, pour roughly and then let it settle), this was not golden in my glass, despite the name. Really more a reddish brown, with a creamy looking beige head. Lots of lace.
Big, assertive nose to this. Smells like the adjuncts (cocoa nibs and coffee), which leave little room for anything else.
Up front this is sweet and coffeeish. On the back end, things get a little boozy. It's not to an unpleasant degree, but there's definitely some alcohol "heat" on the finish, which ends on a sweet and boozy note with something or unlike vanilla.
Light fluffy texture as if poured from a nitro tap.
These Wallenpaupack guys are mad scientists! Really odd and unusual beer. Glad it wasn't in a bomber, that would've been too much. Tallboy can was about right. Weird stuff, but it works as a dessert beer, and is hitting the spot after some Chicken Marsala. Thanks, Jay!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
