Tea It Up: Peach Vineyard Wheat Ale from Wallenpaupack Brewing. 16 oz can purchased from Wallenpaupack Brewing, Hawley, PA (10/20/2021). $ 6.36 (including tax)/can ($0.398/oz). Stored at reefer in store and at 40 degrees after purchase. Reviewed 21/04/22. Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Stamped on bottom of can “CANNED 09/22/21”. Served at 48.9 degrees in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. Final temperature 54.1 degrees.
Appearance – 4
First pour – Pale Gold (SRM 4), slight haze.
Body – Deep Gold (SRM 6), hazy. When rear-lite, same.
Head – Average (Maximum four cm, aggressive center pour), anti-flash white, low density, and average retention, diminishing to a 0.6 to 0.7 cm thin crown fed by moderate carbonation and a thin complete cap, leaving lacing on the inside of the glass as the head retracts
Lacing – Good! Wide band of forerunner to torn curtain lacing.
Aroma – 3 – Peach, no malt, no hops, no yeast, no strawberries, no tea.
Flavor – 3 – Peach followed by a bit of strawberry, bitter. No hops, no malt, no yeast. I assume the bitterness comes from the tea which is totally flavorless. No ethanol (6.4 % ABV as marked on label) taste or aroma. No gastric warming occurs. No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl.
Palate – 3.5 – Medium, thin and watery, soft but lively carbonation.
Final impression and summation: 3.25 Well. Another beer that’s past its desirable lifespan. This is what happens when your inventory gets too deep. Or maybe when the brewer is producing a bier du juor for no good reason.

Thanks to Ozzylizard for this one, from his recent boxes during NBS BIF #14. 16oz can (dated 10/20/21) poured into 14oz teku. Poured a hazy dark orange/light brown color with a half-inch of white head that had very good retention and extremely light lacing.

Strawberry at the front of the nose, with some light peach behind it. No real tea or hop aspects.

The peach flavor was a bit stronger on the tongue, but the beer was still strawberry forward. Still light wheat and tea.

The body was light-medium, smooth, and had a dry finish.

Drinkability was very nice, I could see draining a few of these at a summer cook-out.

Overall, a nicely enjoyable brew. Certainly worth a shot if you see it.
