Next on the review desk is For The Love of Lager by Wallenpauack Brewing. A massive three-fingered foamy, airy, light tan head was created from the pour. Serving it in a wizen glass at around 44 degrees. The quick dissipation left lots of lacing on the glass. The rich mahogany hues glisten in the light, charting the beer around SRM 18. The beer has some clarity and a few carbonation bubbles. The apperance is average for this style; I would have liked to see a longer-lasting head.
The aromas are caramel, bread, hints of nuts, a skosh of chocolate, and a light floral note. The nose is clean and defined. I was worried about it being over six months old and fresh, yet I smelled nothing that would indicate it was not.
The flavors are caramel, lightly toasted bread, nuttiness, a skosh of chocolate, a hint of coffee, and a light floral note.
The mouthfeel is smooth and cloying, finishing a touch dry. The body is medium with low carbonation.
Wow, I love this beer. This Dunkel is well-made and ticks all the right boxes. Beautiful beer. Thank you, Jay!
