I thought this tasted smoky at first sip. It's really aromatic but like a Rauchbier. It gets quite bitter after a few sips. It's quite a mouthful of woody flavors but not at the fruity end of the spectrum. Well, maybe some grilled peaches.
Malty and robust with a dry finish. Overall an interesting but enigmatic hoppy brew. On tap at the brewery in the far suburban industrial park. Who knew how far Bellingham sprawled?
