Hand-pulled pint in the Skegness Wetherspoon's (The Red Lion) on 24th Oct 2013.
Poured a reddy/brown deep amber colour with a medium density white head.
The aroma was a mixture of toasted malts and semi-smoked peat with old fruit peelings.
Taste wise it perked up a bit: mild caramel notes with less smokiness and more fruit hints, without old peel.
Overall not too bad, it was the weakest of this years beers in the Wetherspoon Autumn Beer Festival and had enough character to stand along side plenty of beers with a higher ABV.
