Also experienced this as part of the 'spoonsfest. Dark amber colour with a decent head and a rather muted toffee nose. The beer exhibits a pleasant bitterness and a surprisingly good toffee flavour. I was wary of a toffee flavoured beer but this is actually carried off quite well, not at all cloying.

Hand-pulled pint in Montgomery's Towers (a Spoons in Shrewsbury) on 1st Nov 2012: one of the many beers in the Spoons 2012 Real Ale Festival. Wetherspoons claim it has been brewed purely for their festival which could well be true.

Amber body, clean and clear looking, the head both creamy in colour and texture.

Toasted, roasted malty aroma, some caramel and toffee notes but no overly sweet in the smell or taste.

Not the most exciting beer on earth but it does have a flavour and taste: malty and fruity with a semi-dry finish, not bad at all.

(Notes of Nov. 07) Tasted by a half-pint at the Swim Inn, a JDW pub on the West Street, Sheffield; served by a sparkler pull.

A: bright dark tawny in colour, coming with creamy off-white froth and low carbonation, leaving very tight lacing along the way.
S: caramel, apple-ly fruity, sharp pineapple esters dominate the nose; given a swirl, Czech malts' biscuity+toffee notes and floral hops indirectly reveal themselves...
T: fresh nutty and toasted malts plus semi bitter-sweetness spring throughout the drink, as hops lag closely behind. In the aftertaste the richly malty undertone lingers, lending a good depth and body.
M&D: very soft in carbonation, moderate in body, and balanced in flavour - all in all this is a classic example of English Bitter added with an extra floral touch of German hops (Hersbrucker like).

served by pint at local wetherspoons as part of their unviversity of real ale festival.

A - Golden amber colour with soapy rocky 2 finger head that dissapates quickly to leave a crown around the rim. Lacing is moderate.

S- Fresh and some grapefruit and sweet floral notes. Bready, syrupy malts apparent also.

T- Much like the smell, a little syrupy perhaps for me, citrus doesnt come through as well as other examples, but a good balance with a clean finish with a nice subtle nutty aftertaste.

M - Low carbonation, a bit sticky.

D- Nothing amazing here, could drink happily but not much in the ways of flavour to explore, average!

Nobbad. Fresh and floral aroma. Malts are grainy/bready. Hops are lightly tangy, citrusy and lightly bitter, enoyable cask bitter. I found it pretty easy to get in to. Perhaps it was ever so slightly sticky and sweet, but generally pretty inofensive stuff.
