Cask at beerhall
Dark gold/amber. Lasting small white head. Aroma fruit (old apples) flowers and grain.
Taste light grain and wet bread. Mildly sweet with mild zesty spicy bitterness. Much lighter in character than tiger but good balanced ale.

Pint from cask at The George and Dragon just outside Banbury.
Clear amber with thin creamy head.
Aroma of yeast, hops and malt.
Nice hoppy taste and slightly grassy.
A good English bitter served at a stereotypical thatched country pub.

500ml Brown bottle (best before 26 Oct 2012): poured into an Abbot Ale glass tankard on 30 July 2012.
Orangey amber body, clear and bright, thin head once settled: loads of carbonisation bubbles rising through the brew.
This is Everards 'Cooking Bitter' as my Dad would call it: meaning their ordinary or session beer.
The nose and taste are leaning heavily towards the hop contents, but without going overboard with the bitterness. The malts are in the background but do show their presence in a warming and mildly sweet way. This is an easy going brew with a bittering twang to it, rather than an out and out hoppiness bitter flavour.
Slightly too 'fizzy' for me: so highly carbonated as the look indicated from the start.

New copper penny with loose lace curtain head that pits. Steely cut grain, crunchy leaves and a touch of spice on the nose with buttery toffee as it warms.
Sour grain and brown toast, a bit of leaf, then mild cedar hops with some spice cookie.
Butterscotch end and minty linger. Light to medium, oily and dry.
Above average with some nice hops spice. Easy to drink at this ABV. A proper session bitter.

A 500ml bottle with a BB of Nov 2011. Picked up cheap from a nearby off-licence.
Poured into a Sam Smith's pint glass. A clear golden-amber colour with good carbonation. Forms a decent head of creamy white foam that lasts for a couple of minutes before subsiding. Aroma of sweet malt with a biscuity character. Notes of caramel and solvent.
Tastes of sweet malt with notes of biscuits and caramel/toffee. A mild leafy bitterness lurks in the background. No aromatic hops are discernible. Mouthfeel is smooth and tingly with a dry finish; perhaps a little thin-bodied. Mild aftertaste of sweet malt and stewed hops.
An OK ale; nothing special. Light and pretty drinkable, but rather bland. Fits the profile of a traditional session bitter, however it would benefit from a more robust hop presence. I suppose it's worth trying if you don't pay too much....

Guest ale in a pint glass from cask at the social club.
A: reddish/brown amber in color with traditional thin head (no nitro here), but impressive and lasting lacing.
S: (over-) ripe fruit with earthy undertones
T: earthy, rustic, and tart with a bit of citrus zest
M: typical for a traditional bitter--not too heavy but not thin or crisp like a lager either, moderate body and minimal carbonation/bite
D: not bad, wouldn't mind trying a bottled/canned version as well to compare

This was my first pint while on vacation to England over the winter holidays. It was on cask at a nice thatched roof pub on the east side of Leicester (The Rose & Crown..Thurnby) that had all of the normal range of Everards products on hand pumps.
A nice amber color with a very slight hoppy smell..Dry and somewhat bitter but very pleasant. A really nice session beer at 3.8..even though the flavor didn't jump out & grab me. Not nearly as thin a mouthfeel as you would expect for a standard bitter of this strength..not the last one of these polished off before the flight home!

Pint served in a standard imperial pint glass. dark amber colouring with 1 finger head reducing to a crown, average brussels lacing.
S- Lots of challenger hops here, not much sweetness at all.
T- hoppy zest really comes through with some sweet grainy malt notes coming through at the start. Finishes on a dry note.
M- Low carbonation with a firm body, not watery.
D- A nice sessionable bitter, lots of hop character with a firm body that goes down smoothly, a nice brew.
