(Notes of 10/11/2010) Tasted by a half-pint at the John Russell Fox, a JDW pub in Andover, during the chain's beer festival in Autumn 2010; served by a non-sparkler pull. Notes: brewed with Fuggles and Styrian Goldings hop varieties.
A: light reddish amber in colour, good clarity, low carbonation, topped with a creamy light beige head.
S: very light on the nose, hinting at refreshing Goldings hoppiness, melted sugar, and Taiwanese Aiyu (herbal) jelly. Sour touch reveals after a swirl, a bit like honey-ish sourness.
T: bitter-sweet caramely malts & hop bitterness rule the palate, edged by a hint of sour overripe fruits. Not quite knowing what the flavour is aimed for, the finish at least provides a good input of sour breadiness mixed with bitter hops.
M&D: smooth & softly-carbonated, medium-bodied, okay-flvoured and easy to drink - not attractive or special enough, though.
