Alibi Ale Works - Truckee Public House

 

really neat spot in this funky little town, awesome building and space overall, and at first i thought it was just a taproom outpost, but their website says they do some brewing here too, so its rightly listed here as a brewery, hence the review. sucj a cool spot, open and unique inside, old but new feeling, cool architecture with a rather ornate looking bar setup framed by gorgeous windows, the place is splashed with apricity and cozy for being so open as a result. we snagged a great spot on a bar height rail running down the center of the place dividing the bar from the beer hall style lower tables, mellow on a weekday afternoon but i can see this place totally popping off at times too. some cool art, neat little details, and what appears to be a pretty substantial outdoor area for the summer season as well, definitely cool. they had an awesome beer list, something like 20 beers on, mostly brewed at their original space i would think, some good diversity too, and we liked pretty much all we tried, with a vista hopped ipa, an orange chocolate imperial stout, and a solid porter standing out, but we didnt have anything in here i wouldnt drink again, and i would have loved to stay and try them all. they do food here too, but we didnt explore that, next time for sure. service was friendly, not amazingly well informed about the beers or anything, but he got the job done. incredibly cool place, unique building with a lot of character and a wicked beer list, could have hung out here all day long. i will look forward to coming back, hopefully in high summer when the outdoor area is happening, great vibes here!
