Kottbusser is a German ale brewed with oats, honey, and sometimes molasses hailing from Cottbus in the far eastern part of modern day Germany. Since nothing like that exists on BeerAdvocate so... it is closest to APA since technically the beer was illegal to brew in Germany because of the beer purity laws. An altbier or kolsch are other options. Shakopee's version seems very heavy on the honey in both aroma and flavor. A little bit of haze due and creamy body due to the oats. They also do not filter any of their beer. Certainly an interesting beer but a little heavy on the honey.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
