16 oz can into a Becher glass.
L: Pours medium-dark caramel with a 1/4" off white head, OK retention, fine steady carbo bubbles, looks dirty with some sediment in suspension, very good lacing with solid banding and moderate sheeting.
S: Pineapple, melon rind, citrus, very light malts, gently earthy.
T: Citrus zest, pine resin, gently bready malts, orange, tangerine & grapefruit tastes are all slightly mild and are fast-moving. Has a mild yet long resinous linger.
F: Lightly juicy, brisk, medium-light bodied feel with an airy middle and a fast finish that is fairly drying.
O: A very easy drinking 6.8% American IPA. Nice lightly tart flavors and a dry finish. Tastes a lot better than it looks. I prefer no chunks of sediment in my beers. It is good to very good in its style.

Pours a clear golden copper color with a nice head and lacing. Smell is citrus baked bread and malts. Taste has citrus pine grapefruit and baked bread malts. A semi bitter moth feel with caramel malts in finish. Twas all right a chore to finish pounder

Clear, golden/amber hue, large and lasting layer of milky white froth atop.
In the nose: Citrus notes on point here.
In the mouth: Nice and juicy, fresh and zesty. Moderate bitterness. Smooth, malty. Bursting with citrus notes, orange and grapefruit, a little bit of lemon, touch of tangerine. Tasty stuff. Just hoppy enough to qualify for a decent West Coast IPA, but not enough to make it a great one. As is, I'll take it.
Whether you are on the 101 along the Pacific Ocean or the 101 in Shakopee - this West Coast IPA will have you envisioning the tropics as this beer has been hit hard with a strong citrus hop blend.

Pours a murky copper color. 1 finger frothy off white head. Head retention is good. Some lacing on the glass.
The nose is a mild slight pine aroma. A hint of citrus.
Taste - Fairly mild. There's a bit of pine here, that sticks throughout, mixed in with a bit of pineapple on the backside.
The hops do linger in my throat. The body is decent.
A tasty West Coast IPA.

Shakopee. The city holds a dear space in my heart from years & years of weekends spent acting at the Renaissance Festival. Go ahead, laugh, but I might never had gotten laid if it weren’t for RenFest. 750ML crowler with no evident date. Strike one!
The pour is a blissfully haze-free copper with plenty of life, along with a nose dripping dank citrus. I like the citrus much more.
Highway 101 evidently runs through Kansas – not sure that’s what Shakopee was reaching for. The soap up front clashes with the dank, homeland dirt & just a touch of actual citrus mixed in. Nice dollop of bitterness on the end saves this from hitting the drain after one sip. I actually got through about five.
This beer is either appalling bad or old or both. With the dearth of new West Coast IPAs in this town, it’s a tragedy. $7.99 down the drain.
