Nothing fancy (it's a "beer beer"--not remarkable or fancy or incredibly memorable), but enjoyable. Straddles the line between American and English style ales, with a nice grainy, biscuity, crackery, almost gritty malt-base, some hints of tea and lemon, and a (very subtle) hop bill that strikes a balance between juicy, herby, and earthy. More presence than the ABV would suggest: crisp, drinkable, refreshing.

473ml can - the second in a pair of new offerings from another brand spanking new Cowtown brewing concern.

This beer pours a clear, bright medium golden yellow colour, with a near-teeming tower of puffy, loosely foamy, and fizzy off-white head, which leaves some skewed sudsy land bridge lace around the glass as it eventually sinks away.

It smells of grainy and crackery pale malt, some mixed citrus and pome fruitiness, and a minor dose of earthy, leafy, and floral noble hop bitters. The taste is bready and grainy pale malt, white saltine crackers, a tame citrus rind acerbity, and more understated leafy, herbal, and wet grassy verdant hoppiness.

The carbonation is quite active in its almost overachieving frothiness, the body a decent middleweight, and more or less smooth, as the hop bitterness is kept duly in check. It finishes trending dry, the crackery nature of the malt pretty much running the table.

Overall, this is an agreeable enough version of the (sub) style, with the malt bill kept good and hefty, so it doesn't feel watered down, and the hops presented as inoffensive, but with a worthy stab at providing a sense of balance to the whole deal. This is another example of what I just like to call 'a beer' - nothing special, just a good, simple quaff.
