Twice poured, lasting beige head. No lace, though. The liquid is deep dark brown where no light passes.
A pleasant smell mocha--a blend of coffee and dark chocolate.
Rich body with a decent amount of carbonation for balance. The flavor starts like semisweet chocolate but a dollop of cream comes in. The swallow draws out more bittering coffee elements. Overall, a complex stout which belies the "Imperial" expectations except for the abv.
