Canned 2021/10/10
Pours a tan foamy dense 1+finger head with great retention, fair lacing, dark chestnut brown to almost black
Nose big cocoa, nutty coffee, syrupy, sweet mocha Java with caramelized sugar, chocolate cake
Taste semi sweet but thankfully more malt like, toasted biscuity brown malts, roast and coffee, little cocoa and dark chocolate, some of the sweet chocolate cake notes, light to med bitterness with mild spicy hop notes, finishes a bit drier with more spicy hop bitterness
Mouth is med to fuller bod, soft creamy carb
Overall eh, more like sweet stout than a dark lager, feels a lot richer and heavy than it should as well

Pours a cola brown with two fingers of khaki foam. Aroma is nutty, bready, toasty, and caramely malts. Accents of toffee and chocolate add some depth. It packs a good presence for only hitting in at 5% ABV. Flavor profile is toasty, bready, nutty, caramely, and faint wafery malts arranged with toffee and fig. It leans into the malts, mingling dark and lager malt notes well. Mouth feel is medium in thickness with a creamy texture that carries just a touch of silt at the onset of the sip. Overall, a smooth and creamy lager that could easily by an every day sipper, all the while, mashing stout-like malt notes with lager-like malt notes.
