After months in the tank we are proud to debut KVIDERA! We decocted this beer with a grist of floor malted bohemian pilsner, and hopped it with Saaz & Mouteka. From there we fermented it cold and spunded it to build a natural carbonation while it lagered for a couple of months. This beer is crispy as hell and crushable, so crushable that we’re surprised we had any left in the tank after all the times the team tried it for “quality control”.

Excellent frothy head that recedes slowly leaving an extensive web of lace throughout the tasting. Light gold color (nearly like straw) with a hint of green. Faint haze.

The smell is a bit eggy (sulpher?) with a blend of floral and straight up bittering hops.

The taste has a light malty sweetness that contrasts the off setting hop bitterness. Well balanced and easy to drink. Spritzy as expected with a neutral to low body. This is a refreshing full flavored lighter lager.

This has a nice golden color, almost clear with a 1" white frothy cap. The head quickly turns rocky and translucent before falling to a thick ring and blanket. Lacing is minimal on a pilsner gals.

The aroma is herbal and bready, with an earthy grain accent. Light sweetness gives way to peppery hops.

The flavor follows the nose, although less herbal and more grain. There is no fruit. It is more bitter than sweet, yet balance is decent. The finish is delayed a few seconds, then kicks-in with a strong vegetal astringency, only yielding at the next sip.

A medium body and course wool texture. Alcohol is surprisingly present, though far from strong. Carbonation is spritzy.

This is a decent drinking beer, even with a finish not to my liking. It is my first of this style, so scores are more a reflection of taste than style markers.

A: Pours a crystal clear pale yellow in color with moderate to heavy amounts of active visible carbonation rising quickly from the bottom of the glass and moderate straw yellow + bright yellow colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall sudsy fizzy foamy bright white head that slowly reduces to a medium to large sized patch of medium thick film covering approximately 30% of the surface of the beer surrounded by a large patch of slightly mottled very thin film covering the remainder of the surface of the beer and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Slightly heavier than moderate amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Slightly stronger than moderate aromas of biscuit + bready + cereal grain malts with a very light amount of grainy sweetness. Moderate aromas of lager yeast. Light to moderate aromas of grassy + herbal + floral hops.

T: Upfront there are moderate flavors of biscuit + bready + cereal grain malts with a very light amount of grainy sweetness. That is followed by moderate flavors of lager yeast. Finally there are light to moderate flavors of grassy + herbal + floral hops which impart a light amount of bitterness which slowly fades away leaving a clean finish.

M: Light to medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Crisp with a slightly dry clean finish.

O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and a pleasantly crisp + refreshing + clean mouthfeel. Enjoyable and a nice example of the style. Could easily enjoy a few of these in an evening.

Pours a frothy fizzy 1 finger head with fair retention, a bit of lacing, semi hazy semi clear pale straw color

Nose grainy cereal malt with doughy bready notes, a bit of cake batter, grassy floral hops, a touch herbal, and lemony

Taste starts with the doughy malts, pilsner malt, straw, grainy sweet, bready, faint batter, quickly into hops with a bit more lemony citrus zest, floral herbal notes, getting a bit spicy late, general fruity notes likely from the hops since the lager seems clean, med bitterness finishing a little crisp with a long spicy hop bitterness typical of a Czech pils

Mouth is med to a touch lighter bod, med to a bit higher frothy carb

Overall pretty nice Czech pils
