German Style Pilsner brewed in collaboration with our buds from Human Robot. For this beer, we used a turbid mashing technique from an 1865 Franconian brewing text, with all Barke pilsner malt. We hopped this with Hallertau, Tettnang, and some aged Hallertau that the HR crew brought for the brew day. From there, we fermented it cold, spunded and carbed naturally, lagered 'til ready. The result is a crisp, refreshing lager with a ton of character. Aromas of baked bread and citrus, with tasting notes of biscuit, meyer lemon, and white wine musk.

It begins with a pour to empty the contents of a pint can into a clear Imperial pint glass. Little white head was produced by the effort. The beer is nearly clear, but bright yellow-amber. There's a Pilsner aroma, but it's faint. Although the flavor is also very light, a good mouthfeel salvages things. Its body is surprisingly supple and smooth. Yet, there was hardly any glass lacing. As it warms, it becomes slightly more tasteful, but never gets to be a full flavored German style Pilsner. A pleasant thirst quencher? Likely, but this won't be memorable for how it tastes.
