Appearance - The beer was a slick black color with a bubbly head.
Smell - There was chocolate malt in the nose, but not a ton of rye.
Taste - In the initial taste, there was rye for days. The dark malts had bitterness, nothing that took away from the big picture. There were chocolate notes as well. The rye lingered nicely.
Mouthfeel - The body was smooth and light.
Overly - The beer exceeded expectation.

Canned 2024/03/21
Pours a frothy creamy off-white 1.5 finger head with good retention, sticky lacing, dark but clear chestnut brown to ruby color
Nose starts like a schwarzbier, some roast, chocolate, but light lager, little biscuity bready notes, heavy toast, a bit of a fruity rye note
Taste brings a bit of a sweet malt, more schwarzbier with a bit of roasted, some chocolate pastry like bready doughy notes, light bitterness from a mild floral hop, mild fruity spicy rye up front though it kicks in more on the finish with a bit more spicy hop bitterness
Mouth is med bod, soft creamy like, med frothy carb
Overall not bad, a nice dark lager schwarzbier like with some rye as well
