Canned 2025/01/15
Pours a large foamy semi creamy 2 finger brown head with fair retention, a bit of lacing, basically jet black color
Nose brings a mix of dark chocolate, roasted malts, coffee, char, a bit of caramel and nougat, cocoa, mild baking spices
Taste brings more roasted malts up front, roasted coffee, toasted caramel notes, a mild charred nougat and baking spices, heavy roasted coffee, some bitterness from the roast and mild spicy hops, a hint smoky, mild cocoa and dark chocolate, even faint licorice, semi dry finish with a flash of perfumey alcohol
Mouth is fuller bod, not too rich or creamy though, about where it should be, med carb, a touch of warming alcohol
Overall pretty good, a bit heavy on the roast and char that borders acrid, but otherwise a good beer
