A 660ml bottle with a BB of Oct 2014, so it's just out of date. Picked up a little while back from Trembling Madness in York. A single-release brewed to celebrate the Tour de France when it came to Yorkshire back in July. Described on the label as a pale ale aged on oak from a chardonnay barrel and finished with champagne yeast. Oh yes.....

A: Poured into a tulip pint glass. Bottle conditioned. A bright golden hue with faint haze and low carbonation. Yields a large head of creamy white foam that lasts for a few minutes before reducing to a patchy surface layer.

S: Aroma of vibrant fruity hops with hints of mango, tropical fruit, melon, white grape, citrus, earthy yeast, subtle grainy malt and faint stewed hops. Delicious and superbly rounded.

T: Tastes of fruity aromatic hops with a mild, dry finish. Notes of mango, tropical fruit, white grape, mild melon, a touch of grapefruit, citrus, grass, earthy yeast, grainy malt and stewed hops. Well-attenuated, followed by a subdued, hoppy bitterness upon swallowing.

M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with soft carbonation and good body. Somewhat astringent, accompanied by an aftertaste of fruity aromatic hops, earthy yeast and stewed hops.

O: Another impressive brew from Rooster - can they make a bad beer? Looks lovely, while the aroma and flavour are superlative; tropical fruit, white grape and citrus notes abound. The oak aging has a subtle effect but results in a balanced brew with excellent depth. Great body. A delight for the senses - probably long gone but worth sampling if you stumble across it.
