Tasted by half-pint at the White Horse, Parsons Green, SW London, during their Stout&Porter Festival on 17/03/06. It was most kindly offered by the bar manager who took this beer straight from the cellar, after hearing my complaint that there was not a single beer on draught that I hadnt tried
A: almost black colour, like ebony; flat textured and no beer head at all, as it was gravity-dispensed.
S: dark fruitiness dominates the nose, along with Fuggles hoppyness, mild flower fragrance, and a deep bed of roasted barley with its sour-bitter edge firmly in the background. Solid.
T: a shell-fish kind of savoury-sweet flavour (from yeasts perhaps) blends very well with rather light dark maltiness, going smooth with a pleasant roastiness like coffee-beans and faintly dark chocolates along with more dark fruitiness at the back of the palate Not terribly complex, but the overall taste is just utterly enjoyable and quite refreshing, making one wonder whether real oysters are added to this brew?!
M&D: wonderful mouthfeelsilky smooth and pretty light-bodied, its the kind of Oyster Stout which Id choose to really pair with oysters~~ Another solid beer by Roosters worth seeking out (on draught at least).

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
