Handpump half-pint at the White Horse.
A: Black body with clear brown highlights; thin, coarse tan head. Not bad, but no better than average.
S: Nice, straightforward assault of rich coffee and dark chocolate. Simple and enjoyable.
T: Coffee leads off, but doesn't really dominate. Tons of caramel, some chocolate, and some leafy hops. Quite tasty.
M: A little thin for a stout, with very light carbonation. Kinda weak.
O: The aromas and flavors were there, the body just wasn't. One plus side of this would be high drinkability, but I'm not really looking for that out of a coffee stout - I want a rich, substantial beer. Still, I'd gladly drink it again.
Cheers!
