Poured from 750mL bottle into a tulip. This is from batch #2. The bottle lists this as a "blended sour farmhouse ale with passion fruit".
Appearance: murky orange-pink hue, quite a lot like the flesh of a papaya, with a finger of frothy ivory foam atop. I think we can excuse the murk due to the fresh fruit; indeed, it's quite pretty in that context.
Smell: exceedingly tropical and earthy, with a delightful, complex fruitiness. It's sweet, but with a balancing earthiness and just enough sourness to suggest fresh fruit. It's wonderful.
Taste: very tart indeed, right up front and all throughout. The earthy tropical fruity flavors from the aroma are present, but they're a little bit overpowered by the sourness. There's quite a lot of pucker going on here. I like it, but the sour would complement the other flavors better if toned down a little bit.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: I like this beer a great deal, but it is one of the sourest beers I've had in recent memory. Big, big pucker factor. If that is your jam, you'll love this beer, but for me I think it is a little bit of an impediment to the other great flavors present here.
