Poured from 500mL bottle into my BeerAdvocate teku. This is an "oak barrel fermented sour with blackberries", aged 15 months in red wine barrels, according to the label.
Appearance: medium amber-orange hue with a dash of haze and a finger of frothy ivory foam atop.
Smell: malty, caramelly sweetness, along with a pronounced tang. Without any other information, I would guess this was fruited, but my mind would not immediately jump to blackberries. Still, it's enticing!
Taste: quite tart, although by the standards of other Dirty Couch sours I've had recently, it's actually a little tame -- which I like. There's definitely a hint of the wine barrels in there, but again, aside from a general fruitiness it doesn't scream blackberry to me.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: a well-made sour, although I wish the fruit were more pronounced.
