Tasted by a pint at the Wenlock Arms, N. London two days ago. This was the last beer tasted amongst five others (all by half-pint) that evening, and also the most satisfactory.
A: dark orangey golden hue with great clarity, while the thin creamy, white beer head sustains throughout the drink--a dream come true for a healthy and fresh cask-conditioned ale.
S: very fruity, with grapefruit and lychee-fruits dominating the theme, mixed with a light-bodied and soft maltiness at the back. Nice hop presence throughout and very complex as it goes.
T: upfront the grapefruit-zest tangy taste comes with grapefruit-juice like bitter/sour-sweet juicy fruits. The bitterness mingles so well with the lightly juicy pale malts which catch up fast, leading to a long-lasting, vertical hoppyness mixed of good depth of grapefruity fruits and spring blossoms.
M&D: the clear and vertical structure of hops and malts is the major hit in this beer, making it a lively hoppy ale with a solid body and ultra-balanced flavour, while remaining absolutely smooth on the palate. A great seasonal offering from the Pictish! (actually I ended up drinking three pints of this beer in 1.5 hours which had never happened to me before~~)

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
