The beer pours bright amber with a 1/4 inch head that dissipates to a white film. It does have a spicy nose (thus the Kruidige label?), but it does not smell of hops! The nose is reminiscent of spiced cookies! The palate is mostly forward with a short finish but some bitterness on the palate. There are hints of malt and green apple but a very light body. The carbonation is modest to light. Nice lacing. It’s easy to drink, but does not warrant much contemplating. As ale there should be some fruity esters, but I did not find any. Perhaps that was the hints of apple? I don't know. I will not seek this out again.

Marketed as an IPA in Holland, but it seems like a desperate attempt by a macrobrewery to jump on the hipster microbrewery bandwagon. It tastes like a cardboard pilsener with a slightly hoppy aftertaste. It also lacks smell and the foam head quickly evaporates. All in all alright for a pilsener, but this is definitely no "spicy pale ale".

Light and watery, decent malt profile but no hop aromas. An industrial lager marketed as "spicy pale ale". A disappointment.
