Got this from a supermarket in Normandy. Says it's a specialty beer with "intense hopping" and a "rich flavor..."
From a 50cl can into a pint glass.
APPEARANCE: Pours a three finger, medium looking, fluffy white head with decent retention. Perfectly clear amber orange with medium carbonation. Force carbonated. Fades to wisp and sticks to sides. Splotchy wisp leaves some lacing down the glass.
SMELL: Mild notes of bread and some floral hops. A touch grainy, but generally mild all around.
TASTE: White bread and some light floral flavors up front, then some toasted bread, floral notes and a touch of sweet caramel at the swallow. Mild bitter-sweet finish lingers, with bready flavors and some caramel. Mild in flavor, but fine.
PALATE: Medium body and carbonation. A little light and watery perhaps, but goes down fine and finishes with a hint of sweetness.
OVERALL: This isn't bad at all. I've definitely had worse. Not at all the "intensely hopped, rich and flavorful" experience that was advertised, but then again, given the alternatives, there's nothing wrong with this one. Would drink a cold one on a hot summer's day.
