In a sea of lagers and kolschs, the Cream Ale is quickly becoming a popular summer brew. To pay respect to the style's humble roots, we created a “pre-prohibition” recipe that is light, refreshing, and flavorful. This one is awesome in its simplicity: barley, corn, and a touch of caramel malt for sweetness. We then used Mt. Hood hops to give that slightly spicy, grassy tone often found in the roots of fine light(er) beers. Topped of with subtle hints of lemon, Crooked Cream Ale is the perfect companion on a hot summer day. Please drink and mow responsibly.

Slightly hazy gold, dense white head, great retention, no lace
Slight bit of fruit and sulfur from the yeast, canned corn aroma
Canned corn flavor with a bit of spicy hops
Medium light bodied with good carbonation
I'd just as soon have a macro lager

Picked up today in Delaware on the way back from a day at Cape Henlopen State Park near Lewes. pours an attractive golden color with a respectable head and great clarity. Nose is grassy and a little corny but basically bland. Smooth throughout the sip, stuffed with easygoing cereal notes and with a nice creamy sweet finish that provides some chewiness. Not too much carbonation. Kind of brilliant in its simplicity.

5/26/19....pours pale bronze light foam and very still. Slight grain nose. Simple cereal taste. Creamy mouthfeel. Very clean. Grassy lemon hints. Nice enough summer beer.

This is basically a standard cream ale with some extra hops, added in a way that (hopefully) won't turn off the AAL drinker: just a touch of grassiness and citrus. Easy to drink and pairs well with just about any food.
