New England Pale Ale. Triple dry-hopped with Mosaic, Azacca, and Motueka. 5.6%
Appearance: Looks the part. Hazy, but not opaque. Quite pale, even for a beer like this. Pale yellow in color. Good head, good lacing, good retention.
Smell: Big nose on this guy. A nice mix of zesty fruit (stone and tropical) with a decidedly dank and resin side as well. Smells quite nice.
Taste/Feel: More or less follows the nose. The Crooked Crab NE Pales/IPAs tend to be on the dry side, which is fine by me. Bright mango, big peach, and resin. Some citrus notes as well. Medium-light bodied with balanced bitterness. Drops off quickly on the finish, which aids drinkability, but gives a slightly watery impression.
Overall: Quite good and grows on you over the course of the drink. Despite the NE Pale characterization, would be ideal for a beach day or summer patio drinking.
