Close to black body with a large, thick tan head that left good lacing. Coffee and dark chocolate in the aroma all but drown out the hops. Earthy, woodsy taste evolved from the roasted grains. Oats add a smooth, rounded flavor. Bittersweet finish.

5 oz pour on tap. Pours a very dark brown, nearly black. Small head and minimal lacing. Aroma is dark roasted malts and coffee. Taste is similar but VERY roasty. Mouthfeel is on the thin side. Overall not my favorite CC beer.
Side note: I also had this infused with Bordeaux cherries and it was absolutely fantastic. The sweetness and slight booziness of the cherries worked beautifully to round out the rougher edges of the base beer while still coming across as subtle. My rating for THAT beer would be closer to 4.5.
