Aged 6 months in Eagle Rare and Buffalo Trace Bourbon Barrels, this Imperial Stout is a blend of two rich and decadent brews. Mocha Java Maximum Joltage was barreled without coffee and left to mellow. After a long rest we blended in a portion of our 2020 Eternal Deathslayer double-mashed 5-hour boil Imperial Stout to add complexity to the already intense bourbon-soaked brew. The final blend is rich and full-bodied with deceptively mild alcohol warmth and a smooth whiskey finish. Loaded with flavors reminiscent of caramelized sugar, dark chocolate, and toasted marshmallow, with delicate hints of vanilla, coconut, and oak. Sip this beast responsibly!

5 oz pour at the brewery. Pours an opaque near-black with a tan head. Aroma and flavor feature dark roasted malts, vanilla, oak, whiskey, and low-to-moderate bitterness. It is fairly sweet but nowhere close to cloying. Mouthfeel is creamy and smooth with medium-low carbonation and the 11% abv is totally hidden. This is probably the best BA beer I've had yet from Crooked Crab. Great stuff.
