16 oz can poured into a Sam Adams pint glass. Pours a dark chestnut brown with a frothy tan head. Good retention and lacing. Aroma and flavor offer nutty malt, pumpernickel, hints of coffee and cocoa, and earthy/spicy hops. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied and on the prickly side. Perhaps not as complex as the best style examples, but nevertheless very tasty. Glad I got a 4-pack!
