Full-bodied & malty lager. Strong German-style lager brewed with dark Munich & crystal malts and hopped with noble Hallertau hops for a surprisingly smooth rich flavor and superior drinkability... I'll be Bock!

16 oz can poured into a tulip pint glass. Pours a deep caramel color. Aroma and flavor feature caramel/bready malt, some citrus hoppiness, and a touch of grass. Moderately sharp and boozy, not entirely inappropriate for the style but more than I was hoping for; it's not as "smooth" as I prefer in a doppelbock. Not really any spicy or pumpernickel (chocolate) notes. Overall it's a decent doppelbock, but could be better.

6 ounce pour into a mini tulip pint at the brewery.
L: Deep amber clear pour with golden highlights. Thin khaki head fades to a ring.
S: Subtle nose, plum, dark fruit, and caramel.
T: Malty and plum forward, toasted bread, nice flavor.
F: Medium-weight, frothy and a bit creamy, moderately carbonated.
O: Representative, easy drinking and desirable.

Gorgeous amber pour with a decent, fizzy head. Smells sweet and pretzely. Tastes sweet, smooth, and a bit hoppier than I usually expect with doppelbocks. Nice crisp carbonation.
